SKETCHES FOR DECAY
These images are made with high-powered scanners which capture the minute intricacies of fallen leaves and dried plants. The scanner freezes the plants in time, giving them a digital immortality. But during the scanning process, the artist introduces a new form of decay, slightly moving the objects as the scanning element moves across the bed, creating the color separation of electric reds, greens, and blues. In these photographs, the plants and specimens are stuck in a frozen, delightful decay.
