FLOW

In a series of photographs conceived for MishMash, a St. Louis-based zine, Goetz shows the creation of the universe by photographing models, metaphors, and kitchen chemistry. Each photograph corresponds to a specific period of creation. The timeline begins with a representation of the Bubble Theory followed by the big bang, an era of light, an age of darkness, and then the slow progression of nebulas, stars, galaxies, rock, and planets. The series ends with an image of a galaxy-filled universe. This project was informed by research and conversation with Washington University in St. Louis astrophysics professor Henric Krawczynski.
